Apple has been a successful company with many passionate fans. Whatever one thinks of Jobs or his business decisions or marketing strategy, he and Apple have been enormously successful by any reasonable definition of the word.

If a God whose sole criteria for favor is belief, especially in a universe as broad, wide, and deep as this one is (not talking strictly about physical dimensions here, but in all metaphorical / symbolic applications as well) made sense, the believers would have a much more compelling case.

So what's all the fuss about? For the supernaturalists, just write Hawkings' comment off as opinion, and be done with it. No harm done. No one has taken your God away from you. Hawkings' opinion has no bearing on your belief.

I have always loved the space program and everything it represents in terms of science and the outward reach of humanity. But the overhead associated with putting humans in space is monumental. So to move this forward, it seems we need to focus on three things:

HOA's definitely have a valid purpose -- they enforces rules that, generally, set a certain minimum level of "conformity" that, theoretically, help ensure that property values don't suffer because a few folks don't keep their homes up with everyone else's.
